Children's March
This drawing is inspired by the 1919 concert band song "Children's March," composed by Percy Aldridge Grainger. I had the opportunity to play this song for my high school band, and I immediately fell in love with it. I created this drawing to capture the vivid image in my mind as I was listening to this piece. I portrayed the lively and playful vibe of the song. I also incorporated elements from the original conductor's score, like the box-shaped frame around the drawing, the phrase "Over the hills and far away," and the font of "Children's March" at the top. The music notes winding throughout the image are the actual notes that were written on my sheet music. I created this drawing using colored pencils on gray-toned paper (24" x 19")
