Perloff Hall Redesign
I completed this project while participating in the 2025 UCLA TeenArch Architecture Program. The objective was to redesign the Perloff Hall courtyard, located on the UCLA campus, to make it more interactive for students. I also represented a dichotomy through the design. I chose the dichotomy flexible/rigid. My design is inspired by the look of spider webs. It demonstrates how webs stretch and take over space. The large webs overhead create shade for people underneath. They cast unique shadows on the building and ground throughout the day. People can lay on the lower webs like using a hammock. It gives students a space where they can relax in their free time. I also made the entrance more grand to attract more people to visit.
